The game starts out with an NPC that tells you to speak to a guy down the road. After doing that, you'll receive a quest explaining that there's an infestation going on behind the quest giver, and that he wants you to kill 3 Kerubs. Once the simple quest is completed, you return back to the quest giver and he gives you a new quest to pick up some grain sacks at the same place. Once again, after you speak to him he'll explain that another farmer down the road is having problems with his crops being eaten.
We'll call this next Farmer, John. Once you reach Farmer John, he appears to be in a panic. If you tear your eyes away from the interesting dialog, you'd see armadilo looking thing and Kerubs smashing, eating, and scratching at the fertile soil. After accepting the quest, your objective is to exterminate 5 Grain Gnashers(armadilos). The quest is still quite simple, but it'll help you understand your character better, which I'm sure is the very concept of why they implemented these quests into the game. Also, while you kill these Gnashers, you'll want to pick up the Angelica plants, because in town you'll find a quest that requests for you to collect 10 of them. It's a great way to save time early-game.
Soon as you pass the barricades of town you'll get a pop-up quest that begins your first set of 'mission' quests. *The mission quests can be further explained under the guides section of this forum. Pick up all the quests in town and make sure to bind at the statue of a bird to your left(that way you can use your return skill to teleport back to town later), and turn in your Angelica Plant quest as soon as you pick it up. You're first mission quest will be just on the other side of town, in a place called Cliona Lake. It explains that you need to kill another type of Kerub that are attacking a larger farm. Also you'll have picked up a quest requesting for you to pick up wine barrels. You can do that while killing the kerubs. BUT! Before you head west of the lake(where all of that is), you need to collect Akaron Meat. You can get these off of the many flamingo-pink looking birds that are scattered across the shallow waters of the lake(A pick-up quest may drop from these birds(An Axe Handle)). Pick up the Fisherman's quest while your there too. It'll tell you to kill the two other types of wildlife creatures that inhabit the lake(The Barax and The Slinks). This way you can complete all the quests in the eastern part of the lake, and then move to the western for faster leveling. Note: Be sure to use your bandages and potions you received from the beginning quests.
After completeing your first batch of quests you'll find the next part of your Mission quest to be for you to return back to the farm and kill the Big Foot Kerubs. You won't be getting any more quests from Cliona Lake until later, so it's best to head right back and finish it off before going into town to turn in the rest of your quests. Continue to collect Angelica or any other type of plant you may see. You won't be needing them, but later on you'll need at least 15 Collect Skill for a quest. Getting it as soon as possible is best.
Once in town, be sure to sell your gray items at one of the shops in town, and to pick up your level 5 Skill books. You'll most likely not be at that level yet, but it's good to not have to go back to town for them later on. Make sure to have picked up all your new quests(Including the ones inside both buildings), and start heading north. Just follow the road and you'll find another quest giver explaining that you need to have Two-Day Sparkys killed. Ignore that for now and continue down the road until you come upon a group of 3 NPCs. Grab all the quests, and watch the cut scene, if you like(press ESC to skip).
